2102 13.7oz Type II Denim Jacket - One Wash

The Type II denim jacket emerged in the United States in the 1950s as denim transitioned from workwear to casual dress. The defining features — the short boxy cut, two chest pockets, sewn-in front pleats — became the template for what most people picture when they think of a denim jacket. FULLCOUNT's 2102 is one of the finest modern reproductions of that silhouette.

The denim is 13.7oz selvedge, woven with hand-picked Zimbabwean cotton on vintage shuttle looms. Every construction detail follows the original: two button-flap chest pockets with sewn-in front pleats, a pleated back panel, selvedge button placket, punch-through copper rivets at stress points, buttoned cuffs, and waist adjustment epaulettes. A custom veg-tanned goatskin leather patch is set at the neck.

The one-wash finish rinses out excess shrinkage and softens the denim immediately, giving the jacket a supple, comfortable feel from the first wear. Despite being a Japanese pattern, the sizing tends to run more Western; true-to-size recommended. Made in Japan.

Turn inside out before washing. Machine wash on a gentle cycle in cold water with mild detergent, or hand wash cold. Do not tumble dry — hang to air dry in shape. Expect natural fading to develop through wear and washing; this is the intended character of the denim. Wash as infrequently as possible to allow the selvedge to develop its own fade pattern.
