Sole Guard

Sole Guard addresses the part of the shoe most subject to mechanical wear and moisture damage — the sole itself. Leather soles absorb moisture from the ground on every step, which progressively breaks down the leather fibres and reduces the sole's thickness and structural integrity. A latex coating applied before the first wear creates a water-resistant barrier that significantly slows this deterioration.

The coating is particularly valuable on new shoes with leather soles before they are broken in — the first few outdoor wears on urban paving are the most damaging period for an unprotected leather sole. Applied in 2–3 thin coats with the built-in applicator brush and allowed to cure before wearing, Sole Guard creates a protective layer that reduces moisture absorption and increases grip on smooth surfaces — particularly useful in wet conditions on city pavements.
